RE: Top Load

Hi All:
Just fired up a coil I have been working on for about 8 months. Working fine
now but started out with puff of smoke on my carefully planed "Terry
Filter". I had the caps and MOV's properly spaced but the perf board I used
had copper clad holes. As I started to "turn up the juice" a spark raced
across and promptly took out one of the 1K ohm 225 watt resistors. Took out
the dremel tool and sanded off the copper in the offending area. Works great
now. I'm sure the veterans know about this, but I had never thought or read
about it. Maybe it will save someone the irritation...............
Love the list
Alan

If it's too close to the top the top load begins to look like a
"shorted turn". Best to experiment with some elevation.
