I've actually got samples of these - I'm going to use them for RS232
isolation between my PC and weather station for lightning protection.

Needing 5V on both sides isn't a big deal - MeanWell
<www.meanwell.com> does little board-level DC-DC converters with
reasonable isolation.

Another isolator for consideration is
<http://www.analog.com/en/prod/0,2877,ADuM2402,00.html>.  This is a 4
channel model and provides 5kV of isolation.  Transformer based as
opposed to TIs capacitor based ISO721.
