Hi Igor,
I don't really have much experience with exploding
wires, but I do have a few shrunking quarters under my
belt ;^) With 4 kJ, you should be able to modestly shrink
quarters down to nickel size. You will definitely need a
sturdy steel containment vessel as blasting a small work coil
for coin shrinking with the energy of an assault rifle's muzzle
blast is obviously going to blow shrapnel of wire fragments
everywhere! Definitely not something for the faint of heart! ;^()
I have shrunken quarters with up to 20 kJ blast and at this
kind of power, the quarter's diameter comes out considerably
smaller than a dime's, but also becomes fairly thick. Even
with most of the "explosion" confined inside the containment
vessel, the noise level is comparable to the discharge of a
large caliber hand gun at point blank range! Be careful!
