Very cool! The control hookups are trivial. The current is lightly low for a SISG but a little loading resistor on the feedback CT would probably fix that ;-)

Inverters can be bought new for about $80 or salvaged free if you can find a working oven with one that is being thrown out.

The real question is how would the control react to a firery Tesla coil load?? The current would jump wildly!! The little chip "should" see that as an acing tube or something and shutdown. But there is not a lot of feedback there so the circuit might be easy to trick >:))

or, if you're running into an inductor for resonant charging, the inductor might smooth the current out.

But, it starts to look like these widgets could start to spell the "end of the pig" for conventional spark gap coils, at least for coils in the few kW range.
