RE: shipping things like NSTs

Hi Dave

I've always fancied a US style NST with insulators sticking out of the ends, they look so much cooler than the European ones. I think a few other UK coilers might be interested too, since we have a chronic shortage of NSTs, so I could probably buy several from you and sell the rest on at the UK Teslathons. We only have 240V here, but we could run them in pairs with the primaries series'd and the secondaries paralleled.

Do you have any thoughts on how much it would cost to stick, say, five 12/30 NSTs in a single big crate and send it by surface mail to the UK?

Actually, I have a full shop and lots of wood scraps so building the box
is no big deal.

I was initially looking at foam inserts and such and came to the
realization that it would be faster for me to simply bolt the xformer to
a hunk of 2X wood and then build a box around it with OSB than it would
be for me to use a standard sized cardboard box and fiddle with inserts.

I have about 50 xformers that will be going on the market soon and I
wanted to get something that could be built quickly.
