Many 'burns' (and some other injuries) are not immediately
'registered'. The most common, and, perhaps, analogous,
case being that of sunburn.
Its Real Common for sunburn pain to only be felt 'later',
after damage is done....
I am not an MD, nor a physiologist, however my impression is
that 'pain nerve's are not present 'everywhere', and it takes some
time for damage to lead to pain, in many cases...
