Thanks. I might have spent a week varnishing a ten inch tall coil.

Remember that varnishing isn't really necessary at all if the turns are
tight and even a light coat can keep the turns in place while you tune
up and enjoy your coil. Reserve the fancy coatings until you have a
fancy coil or are satisfied that this one is good enough for you.
