I am thinking of selling my jet turbine powered APU and xfmrs. It was used
in the tail of a KC-135 tanker jet to power everything and heat the jet. It
is a Solar turbine engine, powering a 30KW 3 phase 115v 400hz generator.
It's exhaust goes through a heat exchanger with a circulation motor built
in. It would heat the interior of the jet. At 36000 ft it is -65 out, so you
can get a lot of heat out of it if you want to double it up as a garage
heater.
I have a full manual for it.
You can use just one leg at 10kw and power a 60hz pig for a normal system.
The thing sounds pretty awesome running!
I have 2 radar (about 15kw each) transformers that were used at a NORAD
base. Just so happens they take 115v 3 phase and put out 24kv DC. (there are
sockets for rectifier tubes on top but you could use diodes instead) They
will match up perfectly with the generator.
I also have a second turbine exactly like the firs one, it also for sale.
This could be used as a backup. You will always have spare parts this way if
you want.
I am asking $2500 for the turbine, $3000 for the turbine and transformers.
$2000 for the backup turbine.
This would make for one heck of a portable dc based tc system. I am guessing
3 phase 400hz rectified to dc would be interesting in it's self to work
with.
Contact me off list if you are interested.
