I have an extra variac sitting around not being used, new, in box, inside
the box is a sealed opaque bag which I have not opened, inside the bag is
(by feel) aother box (presumably containing the variac)
on the outside box, it says "superior electric", SECO P/N C84S601 (or
845601, or ???), it says it weighs 29 pounds, and it is dated may 1967.
there is also an OSA(?) part number, 900-67-C-9107 - that looks like a
military contract number to me (with the 67 being a year). I seem to
remember this being a 25 or 30 amp unit, but I don't see any markings on
the box - of course I could actually open the sealed bag, but then it
wouldn't be a sealed bag anymore, would it?
anyway, I've had it for over 10 years, unopened - that's my signal that I
don't need it any more. If anyone is interested, contact me - offer me $$$
and if we can agree, it's yours - I could e-bay it - equivalent units seem
to go for around $75, but I'll start here and see if it can be of use.
