I don't think the physics works like that.  If you periodically detune a
magnifier's extra coil, then the high voltage output simply changes
frequency, and you have a high freq output with an FM modulation.  Why
would adding an 8Hz modulation to the ?40KHz? inject any energy
into the ionospheric cavity?  Supposedly the 40KHz itself won't make it
around the Earth, and FM modulation doesn't change this.

I think you're basically talking about a method of switching a TC's high
voltage output in order to create a repeating sequence of large DC pulses.
We can't do this by changing the extra coil frequency by a small amount.
And if we change the coil frequency by a large amount, the coil would just
act like a shorting bar, and the high freq output would simply vanish
periodically (it would be AM modulated.)

What's needed is a way to suddenly disconnect the extra coil from the
topload.  But the hundreds of megavolts would jump right across any
known switching component that tried to do perform the disconnect.  I'm
proposing that the switching component was the UV light bank (or perhaps
x-ray tube bank?)
