Yes, it will work, possibly very well. While a cone primary has been
reported by some to give a little better performance in terms of spark
length, and gives a more compact unit, anecdotal evidence suggests that a
majority of people who have tried this form find the tendency towards
increased primary strikes, racing sparks, and subsequent shorter component
life-expectancy to be more of a headache than a benefit. Your results may vary
