Hi Ben,

Many have commented on most aspects of your proposed design except the value of the cap. 5.31 is resonant for your NST and that is a bad place to be. Try 8.5 nf (1.6 * Cres) for a static gap.

Hello,

I am currently building a medium size Tesla Coil. Here are some of the
specs:

NST - 15kV/30ma

Capacitor- 5.37 nF made from glass plates with heavy duty aluminum foil
on the inside and outside faces
