Perhaps that's my problem - I'm intentionally running them in the TC
without any ground connection. When I tested them with the Jacob's ladder I
grounded them.
I'd prefer not to run a "wall-plug-ground" to the TC, especially as I
want a center ground electrode on the safety gap, but I'll give it a shot
and see if it helps.
