Hi Chris,
You might want to try them anyway, even if not an optimal solution,
but for aesthetic value. I've seen a coil with a toroid made entirely out
of Bud beer cans. It leaked charge at every rim, but the over-all effect
was impressive, especially to beer drinkers in the crowd. Your cap would be
a conversation piece, even if not terribly efficient.
