That outlook I can understand completely. The craftsmanship indicates
pride which has to reflect in the quality of the work. The ornate steam
engines of the 19th century didn't work any better than very plain ones,
but they are a beauty to behold and obviously worth the extra effort to
the guys who built them. Same thing applies to some of the coils seen
here - way beyond functional but as a result more satisfying to the
builder.
