Re: super cheap capacitance/inductance Tesla coil metering - Software

Hi All,

I have been playing with this idea...

The sound cards tend to only be good for 100 to 10,000Hz and they are real digital choppy. The program are "ok" if you have used those tools before. But they are pretty nasty for someone whose has never used a scope or generator or "windows"......

I am now not sure much real good can be done between 100 and 10kHz... It makes cheaper digital meters look like a real good deal ;-))

The program at:

http://www.marchandelec.com/fg.html

Is cool since it has the free source code. But it is way beyond me...

So I am giving this idea up ;-( I just can't see a path to making a useful workable thing with it.

"Thanks"(!) for the cool programs that were suggested ;-)) But like the song say, you have to "know when to fold em..."

Cheers,

        Terry

Hello All.

I downloaded the software and it runs fine on my
WinXP machine ( servicepack 1 ), celeron 1,7Gz
256megs, only the "correlometer" option will cause
the program to hang up, no compatibility mode was used...
Video is a Elsa Erazor TNT2 with 32MB, so nothing
special....
However, I am not sure how well it will perform at higher
frequencies, soundcards aren't that good at 100KHz.
The storage funktion would come in handy for observation
of my magnifier system....

best regards

Christoph Bohr
