in example 1 I would guess that you would have 2/3 rds the "capacity" to produce a field

in example 2 I would say that you would see a voltage at each end of the ground wire...

black wire together and at the top we did the same.  What would go on in the
ground wire when current is connected to r,w, and b wires?
