Steve, actually I have to disagree with your bellow statement. Why? Well,
while I have a O-Scope, it is just about useless for use with these things
(old and unstable), I tried to use it last year while build my Plasmasonic,
with much hassle, but while working on my DRSSTC's I never found a need for
it. The hardest thing is the gate drive transformer phasing thing, and
really thats not that difficult. Solid state tesla coils seemed
unimaginably complext to me last year, but now I can understand mostly how
they work, and the theory behind them...
But you are correct, there are allways people who never go beyond the kit
stage, if their happy with that, well thats just fine for me ;-)
