Re: Magnet Wire Sources

I would avoid Essex wire and, if at all possible, wire that has been
re-spooled (this means buying large spools, 80+ lbs), and would recommend
Dodge-Phelps magwire. I've gravitated to exclusively using Heavy Duty
Armored Polythermalize magwire, also referred to as high temp wire. I've
gone the cheap wire route and got sick and tired of saving a few bucks a
pound to later lose hours and hours of labor due to the poor quality of
much of the cheaper wire in the marketplace. You can contact Dodge-Phelps
directly and they'll hook you up with a distributor.
