Cardboard can be used but it must be totally sealed inside and out as any
moisture absorption will start the "form release" process ---- something
concrete formers desire but it's bad news for a TC when the coil form starts
coming released and wire springs out everywhere.

You might consider fiberglass (extren) as it won't release if any moisture
is absorbed.  A bit more expensive but a lot safer if you live in a climate
that becomes humid part of the year.
