Hi Cody,
This may or may not be significant to your particular case, but a copper
toroid would weigh approximately 3.3 times as much as an aluminum one of
the same dimensions. Copper sheet is very easily bent or dented, but can be
work hardened by spinning, hammering etc., so that part in not a real
problem, if you're careful.
