The gaps on an SRSG should be close enough so that there is no chance of
them hitting.  Tungsten hitting tungsten at very high RPMs is VERY BAD!
You can even move the gaps relatively far from one another (say 10-30 mils),
however you just won't get reliable operation at lower voltages since the
voltage
may not be high enough to conduct across the gap.
