You'd have to ask Jeff about that one. Heat wise, I'm guessing since the
spark brightness is from high peak current (as opposed to rms) there is
some heat but not enough to burn skin. Also a posibility there is some sort
of heat protection under the metal mesh suit. All I know is that he told me
about a performer that got hit with about a 25-30 foot arc in a raised arm
and he was actually walking toward the coil and compressed the arc to 5 feet
(making the arc even hotter in the process). Unfortuantely I missed the
actual show but something of this magnitude you obviously don't want to try
with chicken wire or storm door screening.
