The 3M tape works fine (made a small toroid that way) but is incredibly
expensive compared to aluminum tape from the hardware store. Added
problem is that the edges are very sharp and can cut your fingers to
shreds. I've used it in large quantitites at work (usually 2" stuff)
where speed of assembly was more important than the cost, but sure
wouldn't recommend it for any home use.
