I used a cluster of four, 750ml wine bottles for a
measured .0066uF in a 15kv/30ma NST coil many years
back. I used brine on the inside so concentrated there
was a bit of undissolved salt at the bottom of the
bottles. I used foil for the outside plates. They
provided adequate performance for my half-assed
attempt at a coil. They never failed in service, and I
ran the same four bottles for about 3 years until I
eventually dismantled the coil. You can see them at:
