though mine say they are good for 5500 watts. Mine
came from an old theatre that was closing down and a
former list member salvaged them and offered them to
the list. I had to drive all day to get them, but they
were cheap. I haven't weighed them, but I think they
weigh less than the 1256's I got from you. They are
taper wound, so they can only be wired one way. They
also don't have any taps.
I used to use these guys back to back to feed my pig,
and they never even got warm, though my ballasting
MOTs sure did.
