Lecture bottles are about 2 cubic feet (which is around 50 liters..) (a mol
is around 22.4 liters, and is about a cubic foot)
I think the specialty gas place charging $200+ is selling it in lecture
bottles with the pressure adjusted to give you the right volume at STP...
The going price, as near as I can determine casually, is about $1-1.50/liter
Off hand, the welding/gas places (i.e. airgas) are probably the best bet,
pricewise. They had lecture bottles too.. bottle size coded LB. You pay a
LOT for that lecture bottle, because they're selling it to you outright.
Renting the cylinder is a much, much better deal. A few bucks a month,
typically.
