RE: small tesla-- coil ignition coil powered

Hi,
I have built a small Tesla coil from 26 awg wire. I want to build a bigger
one. Where is the best place to purchase wire for a Tesla coil?
Also, off topic, I am curious if anyone knows of plans to build a magnetic
rail gun for use in sending objects through the air (like pumpkins using a
catapult)?

You can run a car ignition coil directly from the mains. It will charge a
2.2nF cap (like the Bonsai
coil) without any problem. See the power supply section of my wen site.
Cheers,
