The dish was only electrified slightly when using paper.
I don't feel like looking though box after box for something higher in
the triboelectric series like wool or silk at the moment.What was your
conclusion?

I was thinking about this after posting the message. For use in a
microwave oven, the glass can't be very lossy. Verify if it can
be electrized by friction. Even if too thick for a Wimshurst machine,
you could use it to build a friction machine.
I will take a look at the disk in my oven.
