In a moderate wind you can see multiple spark channels which I gather is
known as the 'banjo' effect.  I have some shots showing this at a guestimate
30kph (the last photo in the 6 inch coil photos

enlargement where some sparks have around 9 bright and 4 faint spark
channels. At 30 kph the 1 cm gap corresponds to 0.01 sec or 100 Hz, giving a
spark gap speed (8 electrode ASRG) of around 700 RPM in rubbery figures.
Each spark probably corresponds to a single electrode presentation as they
are fairly evenly spaced.
