Robert,
For whatever diameter secondary you are winding use the schedule 40 pvc.
This gives walls that are 1/4 inch thick and
are thick enuff to be tapped. Get a piece of pvc the next size smaller so
the secondary fits over it and can slide up and down.
Mount the inner pvc in a toilet flange which can be screwed to the
baseboard. At the base of the secondary drill and tap 3 holes for 3/8 inch
diam nylon bolts
that can then be set to hold the secondary in any position against the
inner tube. Coupling adjustments are easy and exact. The
plexiglas base looks nice but it's not needed. You can save a few bucks.
