I measured bandwidth of stereo amps as part of a university project a while 
back. I also built my own hi-fi amp. I found that the regular kind of 
stereo amp starts to lose output about 80-90kHz because the transistors 
can't turn off quick enough and start to shoot through. They get hot as 
heck and then blow up. An amp with MOSFETs might work a bit better but I 
still think it's no substitute for a proper switched-mode driver circuit.
