Jeremy,
I place my strike rails 2" to 3" above the plane of the primary and out
past the last turn. I glue short pieces of plastic to the ends of the
radial supports that hold the primary. Leave an air gap of 2 to 3 inches
and ground the strike rail to your main RF ground.
