I don't believe I saw this particular event, but I do remember seeing a 
fantastic high voltage
demonstration at the Discover Center in Milwauke, WI ca. 1990 while in 6th 
grade.  It
ended in a large bipolar setup throwing about 8 foot streamers each.  I was 
thoroughly
impressed, and virtually forgot the event until 5 minutes ago!  :)  I do 
believe that Discover
World moved to an addon of the Milwaukee Public Museum about 8 years ago, 
and is
considerably down-sized :(
