Hi Tom
I put a sphere on a toroid with my 18 inch coil as I didn't have a large
toroid at the time. I needed to use a breakout point to get anything from
the sphere otherwise the streamers were from the toroid and directed
downward. Now I use a toroid made from a truck inner tube (33 x 9) covered
with aluminium tape which works fine (without a sphere).
