Spheres on toroids

I've just purchased a 440mm (~16") sphere for the top of my 6" x 27" Tesla
coil. It won't arrive until the new year.

This sphere will sit on top of the already existing 125mm x 375mm (~5" x
~15") toroid.

Is it likely that I will still only get streamers from the toroid (as the
radius of curvature is smaller than the sphere and hence e field strength
larger)?
