Rather than fool with trying fill innertubes with relatively expensive
foam
in a can..
Buy big blocks of expanded polystyrene (trade name styrofoam), and use
either a hot wire (best results) or an electric carving knife and a
template
to make a toroidal foam block. Sand, "bondo", cover with your
preferred
conductive surface.
Good idea, Jim. If you wish to use styrofoam for a small toroid( about
10" by 2" eg) you can find them at craft stores...They are meant for making
wreaths. I also found a 1/2 thick 'plate' of styrofoam for the inner piece.
