I believe it was Mr. Thordarson (I guess the guy who ran the famous
Thordarson transformer company) who did little shows where he'd fry eggs
and bacon in a skillet sitting on a block of ice, with some sort of
induction heater beneath the table.
Induction or not, that must still be impressive to watch. I'm not sure
when this was done, probably back when electricity was still new and
amazing to everybody.
