long term effects of Behr 50 polycoat

Hi all...

Even tho Behr 50 is probably no longer available ( Home Depot here (( 
New Orleans)) no longer carries it)

after 3 years of running my BIGPIG coil  ( 12" dia secondary ) it has 
been found that the Behr 50 coating becomes brittle.

When handling the secondary, the "normal" amout of pressure needed to 
lift the coil is sufficient enuf to cause the coating to seperate from 
the wire, thus leaving "air gaps" between the coating and the wire. 
Hopefully the varnish on the wire is still intact to keep interwinding 
arcing from occuring.

So far no problems have surfaced, but only time will tell.........
