RE: TC discharge... safe or not

Adam,

Everybody has an opinion... very little on this "exact" subject is
written up in legit medical journals (The Lancet, The New England
Journal of Medicine). So....

Experts agree that it's too dangerous to rely on the skin effect as it
is unclear how much current passes through the body. "Skin" in this
context refers to the skin of a conductor not the skin of a human being.
The stunt professionals at kVA Effects NEVER pass currents over/through
their bodies; we use other means not readily apparent to the audience
(i.e. our HV safety suit, etc.).

I stopped "experimenting" with the skin effect years ago. My personal
experience with my tube coil suggests to me that plenty of current flows
"through" the body.

Everybody on this list is free to cook their internal organs in any way
they see fit just as anybody on this list is free to point out that I
have no "scientific" evidence to back up what I say on this subject
(they'd probably be right in the strictest of terms). My advice (check
the source), nevertheless, is to keep all your body parts away from a
working Tesla coil.

Well, i have been reading around and some people say that the discharge
from a tesla coil is (relatively) safe. Others say that is is extremly
dangerous and the "skin" affect does not apply to humans (or somthing of

the sort). I have done the experment where you stand on the platform and

draw arcs to a metal object you are holding, and it felt safe. But, it
is? Thanks Adam
