If this works, it might be worth using neon gas, sometimes available on
eBay or LabX. Neon is the brightest of the noble gasses, while argon is the
most dim. Neon too, will ionize at ATM pressure, but it becomes easier as
the pressure goes down. The normal pressure of a neon tube is between 9 and
12 mmHg (Torr.)
