This has been asked before, but it keeps coming up, and always bugs me:
Do you want the gap to fire at the AC peaks and troughs, or at the zero
crossings?
Seems to me you would want it at the zero crossings. Between two zero
crossings, there is a rising, then falling, but always positive (or
negative) charge being applied. Between a peak and a trough, there is a
positive then negative charge applied, cancelling each other. No?
(I'm assuming 120 bps)
