i was looking at the discussion on longitudinal waves in tesla coils and i have
a thought at how they could be produced. i haven't read all of the posts so
this may have been thought of. in tesla's "the true wireless" he seems to hint
at how long. waves are produced, if the coil doesn't output sparks, then the
energy goes into the ground, since the ground is conductive, longitudinal waves
can be produced (like sound does in air, sound doesn't travel without a medium)
, maybe longitudinal waves are this simple to produce in coils, simply
eliminate the spark and there they are. well, i hope to get some feedback,
i'm only a hobbyist, so if this idea is incorrect, tell me what is the correct
explaination. thanks.
