Take a look at the front page of www.thegeekgroup-dot-org today :) The case is 
open and those 10'+ arcs are connecting regularly with the motherboard. The 
computer is plugged in and running. It took over a dozen hits in stride, 
then it rebooted (to safe mode no less, lol). It took over 20 minutes of 
SERIOUS arcs to kill the computer.

The picture is from the Summer-2001 thon and is a 12" coil owned by Mr. 
Coppersmith. It's a beauty to see in operation. :)
