We have such a machine at work, it's called a glass bead machine. It is
similar to sand blasting but with fine sand instead(less material
damage) it is also re circulated via 4 in PVC back to a hopper where the
used media collects in a bag and fresh media is introduced.
If it isn't grounded baby look out, I have holes through my shirt from
the static zap and I am here to tell you its no fun.

Such a design, using dust, was proposed in the 1940s, by a French
scientist. (I do no t recall Tesla proposing it: there is much i
don't
know....)
