That's a spectacular find!  You seem to have found the ideal
thyratron for a TC.  It's the hollow anode type which can also handle
1000 amps of reverse currents if I understand the specs correctly.  
The peak voltage of 40kV is excellent too.  If the unit works, it
offers you the opportunity to build a TC project that no one
else has ever built as far as I know.  Richard Hull built a thryratron
TC, but it was the type which can only handle a unidirectional 
current, not the reverse currents.  As a result, Richard was forced
to keep the thryratron "on" for only 1/4 of an RF cycle, which
severely limited its performance.  The thyratron can be turned
off at the first RF beat notch (first energy transfer), to prevent
the energy from returning to the primary, thereby reducing
the "gap" (switch) losses greatly.
