You can also use "quail wire" --- a fine mesh wire that is even finer than
chicken wire. It is used by "quail" game farms to keep the little chicks in
a pen.

Cut it into pie shaped strips and wrap it around your duct taped tubing.
Keep all sharp edges point inward.
