who has ever said that nst's are safe they are not safe to touch.
all of the high voltage transformers are dangerous the mots will just kill
you a bit faster the voltage isnt a prob with series or voltage doubled
and as its already been said ballast is used for the current along with the
fact external ballast is a lot more flexible with setting up your natural
resonant frequency of charging circuit
