Nor any specific prohibition in US Federal law or regulation(the word Tesla
only appears in connection with magnetic fields; at least, that's what the
online search engine tells me)).  There might be some community that has a
specific regulation about tesla coils (anybody know of one?) and if you
were sufficiently annoying, a homeowner's association could pass a rule
about it, and from a practical(!) standpoint, HOA rules have almost the
force of law (except you can't go to jail).
