Hi Dan,

That is really not as crazy as it sounds. You could also hook up a laptop
to it to grab the scope measurements to hard disk... As long as you
completely enclosed the thing in the top terminal, it should* be safe.

Of course, Greg Lehy has already gone one further and put himself in the
top terminal too to run the scope (Fluke ScopeMeter) and take pictures of
the data! This is how he made the scope pictures at:

http://www.lod-dot-org/electrum/electrumspecs.html

These early 98 scope captures were the first real hard scope pictures of
such terminal currents. Real ground breaking data gotten the "hard way"!!
;-) These first little scope pictures "changed" the world of Tesla coil
science! I still ponder them...

Of course, the terminal on his coil is big enough to be inside while
running ;-)

I have electronics (but cheap stuff) in several terminals that gets along
fine. I have to admit, I am not about ready to put $4000 of "my" scope on
top of a Tesla coil, but it "can" be done.

Cheers,

	Terry

*A few details like how you hook it up externally and design the terminal
to be truly a Faraday cage... Don't screw up :-))
